SOUNDOUT STUDENT FORUMS After receiving comprehensive SoundOut training, student facilitators and their partner-teachers introduce their entire school to meaningful student involvement. The whole school body, including staff and students, then explore concerns and roles for students in school change.

 

SoundOut Student Forums

Professional Development Workshops for teachers, administrators, and para-professionals who will be supporting students as they make their voices heard and promote school change. Topics focus on engaging student voice in the classroom and in systemic school improvement, as well as orienting all staff to the SoundOut School Forums process.

 

Student Training Hands-on sessions for traditional and nontraditional student leaders to learn about student voice, inquiry-based research, data analysis, and action planning.

 

School-wide Forums Student co-facilitated sessions where students facilitate student/staff discussions, in different groups and joint sessions, about their hopes and concerns for schools today.

 

Data Analysis Student-led examination of forum findings, identifying trends, anomalies, and possibilities for improvement.

 

Action Planning Student/adult co-designed approaches to developing receptive, effective, and sustainable structures for supporting student voice in school.

 

Project Presentation Student-led presentation of action plans to peers, school staff, and others as needed/wanted.
